Dear DSNJ Member:
As you are most likely aware, May is designated “National Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month”. The Dermatological Society of New Jersey (DSNJ), in conjunction with the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Cancer Society, would like to play a major role in this year’s melanoma awareness and we would appreciate your support! Our Society has recently been involved in sponsoring a legislative bill to ban indoor tanning under the age of 18. Our lobbyist is already scheduling a skin cancer screening outreach at the State House in Trenton for Legislators. In addition, we aim to have all of our members participate in free screenings in their regions as a great public service. You are invited to set up your own screening (office, hospital, church, mall, sporting event, etc.) and/or volunteer to participate with screenings set up by your regional chair person (details will be made available as we get closer to May). 100% cooperation will go a long way in putting DSNJ at the forefront state-wide in terms of serving the public and quite possibly, saving lives. Please respond today with your intention to get involved and help us help others throughout the State of New Jersey.
